Town Facilities Still Not ADA Compliant

An extremely concerning video regarding ADA Non-Compliant Town facilities has surfaced
and we thought we would share it with you. It was our understanding that the Council had already voted to install an elevator at the Town’s Community Center a few years ago, but apparently that never happened. Where is the $750,000 that was set aside for this important project, and more importantly, why wasn’t it ever completed?
We keep hearing about this “Town of Excellence”, but clearly we are forgetting about some of our most vulnerable residents and that just doesn’t seem right. Please watch this very short video and email the Council to let them know how disappointed you are. We know it’s an election year and they are concerned with promoting all the flashy ribbon-cutting ceremonies, but in our opinion, they need to make it a priority to take care of and maintain what we already own. At the very least, we need to make sure our facilities are ADA compliant so they can be used by residents of all abilities; it’s not just the “decent thing to do”, it’s the law.
